The MTC Early Midstream Urine Early Pregnancy Tests are an easy to use rapid response early pregnancy test which detects the presence of (HCG) Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. HCG can be detected in the urine as early as 6 to 15 days after conception.

How Do Early Pregnancy Tests Work?

Human choric Gonadotropin HCG is a hormone produced by the developing placenta shortly after the conception and secreted into urine. The early pregnancy tests we sell, contain antibodies which specifically react with this hormone.

When the midstream is immersed into a urine specimen capillary action carries the specimen to migrate along the membrane. When HCG in the specimen reaches the test zone region of the membrane, it will form a coloured line. Absence of this line suggests a negative result.

To serve as a procedure control, a coloured line will appear at the control zone region, if the test has been performed properly.

When To Do The test

Any urine specimen is appropriate for early pregnancy tests, however the first morning urine specimen is optimal because of its highest concentration of HCG.

How To Do The Test

To begin pregnancy testing open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch. Remove test device from the pouch.
Hold the round end of the test with one hand. Use the other hand to pull out the midstream cap and expose the absorbent.
Point the absorbent tip downwards; place the absorbent tip in urine stream for at least 3 seconds to be thoroughly wet.
Recap the device and wait for colour bands to appear. Read the result after five minutes. Do not read the result after five minutes.

How To Read The Results

Negative (Not Pregnant)

Only one colour band appears in the control zone. No apparent band on the test zone. This indicates that no pregnancy has been detected.

Positive (Pregnant)

Distinct colour bands appear in the control and test zones. It indicates that you are pregnant. The colour intensity of the test bands may vary since different stages of early pregnancy have different concentrations of HCG. NOTE: if the colour in the test line is weak it is recommended that the test is repeated in 48 Hours.

Invalid

No visible band at all or there is a viable band only in the test region and not in the control region. Repeat with a new pregnancy test kit. If test still fails please contact medical test centre.

Precautions

Do not use the kit beyond expiry date.
Discard the test after first use.
Keep out of reach of children.
