Female Fertility Test

A woman's fertility starts to decline after she gets to 30, the hormone FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is intimately involved with a woman's fertility and rising levels tend to be associated with reduced fertility. This hormone can be raised in women with irregular periods and will steadily rise as a woman gets older. As menopause approaches the levels get particularly high and act as an early warning system.

With this test a negative result is going to be good news although its not proof of fertility. A positive test result suggests your fertility is reduced and we recommend that you see your doctor to discuss the results and perhaps have more tests done.

This babystart™ home diagnostic screening test is a rapid test of FSH concentration in urine. The kit contains two tests and if both test results are positive it is an indicator of reduced fertility.

How does the test work?

The FertilMARQ™ Male Fertility Screening Test works by staining the cells in the sperm sample to produce a color in a pretreated sample well. The intensity of this color is then compared to a pre-calibrated color reference on the FertilMARQ™ test cassette. The color comparison will identify whether the sperm concentration in the test sample is above 20 million/mL (positive test) or below 20 million/mL (negative test). A sperm concentration below 20 million/mL is clinically indicated as a preliminary diagnosis of male infertility. Two test results with sperm concentration less than 20 million/mL could result in an inability to conceive reproductively, and should be confirmed through more extensive clinical analysis.

How accurate is the test?

The Baby Start Male Fertility Test kit is extremely accurate. It has been tested at an International Level and holds CE marking.

What comes with the test?

Each Male Fertility Screening Test Kit contains all the required materials and reagents to perform two (2) consecutive test procedures. Two tests, both indicating the same test results, are required to confirm overall initial fertility determination.
